The mission of Medical Augmented Reality Summer School (MARSS) is to bring together the world's top
experts, clinicians, companies, and talented reseachers and students from all round the world, fosting
collaboration, and pusing the boundaries of Medical Augmented Reality. MARSS is organized by a
consortium of scientists and clinicians from top institutes and hospitals, which are among the leading
centers for cutting-edge research in medical augmented reality. Till now, it has been held in Europe
every two years; but in the coming summer, MARSS will take place outside Europe for the first time and
this time in Suzhou, China, supported by Center for Medical Imaging, Robotics, Analytic Computing and
Learning (MIRACLE), Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of
China (China), Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures (CAMP), Technical University of Munich
(Germany), Institute of Medical Robotics (IMR), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), and
Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAIR).
The MARSS24 will feature a list of events, including keynote speeches from top experts and clinicians,
hands-on lectures from experienced researchers, industry demos, workshops, and
hackathons, and a lot of fun. For the hackathon, interdisciplinary teams consisting of participants from
research, industry, and clinic will be formed to collaboratively develop novel Medical Augmented Reality
systems, supported by experienced surgeons and AR experts.
This event is endorsed by the MICCAI society and covered by the MICCAI
Code of Conduct.
